WATER AND ECONOMIC INSTRUMENTS
Irrigation represents 70% of total water withdrawals worldwide and climate change is expected to make things worse by increasing the frequency and intensity of drought events. This video lecture illustrates the economic instruments, such as water charges, water markets and water buyback, that can be used to protect overexploited water basins.
